Mull’s Seahawks Cheerleaders Golden Eagles soared to success at the recent BCA Scottish Sensation event in Glasgow – their first competitive fixture.
After months of preparation, the group of eight to 12-year-olds took to the stage at the SECC Armadillo in front of hundreds of other competitors and spectators to perform in front of a panel of judges.
Competing in a difficult junior division at the biggest cheerleading competition in Scotland, the group from Mull remained unfazed with the judges only managing to find 0.25 of a deduction in their performance.
Head coach Lucy Wilson said: ‘The bond these girls have to work together as a team meant they did everything that was expected of them and more and I’ve never been so proud to see them own the stage.
‘The smiles on their faces while they performed really makes all the tough training sessions and precise routine planning so worth it.’
Lucy reserved special thanks for the parents who took the time and effort to get the team to Glasgow to compete and cheer Mum Pat for keeping everyone’s nerves at bay.
‘We can’t wait to get this dream team back into the gym and work even harder for the next one,’ she added.
