BRECKENRIDGE – Jean Dorothy (née Stone) late of Port Appin. At Lorn and Islands Hospital Oban, on January 2, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Billy Breckenridge, and dear sister and aunt. Funeral at Appin Parish Church on Monday, January 20 at 10.30 a.m. followed by committal at Cardross Crematorium at 3.15 p.m. to which all friends are invited to either or both services. CAMERON – Suddenly but peacefully at Belford Hospital, Fort William, with her family by her side, on Thursday, January 2, 2020, Rosemary Cameron (née MacKellaig), wife of the late Angus Cameron, The Old Store Onich. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7 at The Good Shepherd Church, Kinlochleven and thereafter to Innis Na Birlinn Cemetery.
DUNCAN – Isabel (Bibby). Following an unexpected injury fought with her amazing strength of spirit, Isabel (Bibby) passed away peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on January 10, 2020 in her 81st year, devoted wife of Billy, dearly loved mum of Val, Rainy, Linda and Paula, cherished Nannie to Brian, Laurie, Kayden and Kearney, Great-Nannie to Paul and Cara, a much loved sister, auntie and mother-in-law to Willie, Colin and Ann. Sadly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at The Argyllshire Gathering Hall, Oban on Tuesday, January 21 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the Scottish Air Ambulance.
GORRIE – Suddenly at his home, 5B Wilson Road, Lochgilphead, on January 7, 2020, Angus (John) Gorrie, in his 85th year, beloved husband of Catherine, cherished father of Charles, Gavin and Kathleen, dearly loved grandfather of eight and a much respected father-in-law. Dear brother, uncle and cousin to all the family, and a good neighbour, dear friend and former work colleague to many. Funeral service will be held at South Knapdale Parish Church, Achahoish, today, Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 12.00 noon, thereafter to Ormsary Cemetery.
LIVINGSTONE – Mary (née Black). Peacefully after a long illness, Mary passed away at her home Blackmill Cottages, Taynuilt in her 81st year on January 10, 2020. Devoted wife of the late Duncan Livingstone, much loved mother of Gregor and Stuart, mother-in-law of Claire, loving granny to Caya, Abbie, Rowan and Isla. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at 1p.m. at Muckairn Parish Church, Taynuilt. Family flowers only with donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Scotland.
MACDONALD – Peacefully at the Etive House Care Home on January 7, 2020, Duncan (Sammy) MacDonald, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, aged 90 years. Funeral service to be held at Tobermory Parish Church on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11.30 a.m. Thereafter to Tobermory Beadoun Cemetery.
MACDONALD – Peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Cradlehall Care Home, Inverness, Ewen MacDonald, 28 Clerk Drive, Corpach, Fort William, aged 74 years. Formerly MacBraynes and Corran Ferry Relief Engineer. Lifelong passion for buses and coaches. Much loved brother of John, bother-in-law, uncle and loyal friend of many. Funeral service on Wednesday, January 22 at 1.00 p.m. in Kinlochleven Parish Church, thereafter to Kinlochmore Burial Ground. All warmly invited. MACDONALD – Peacefully, at Kintyre Care Home, Campbeltown, on Saturday, December 28, 2019, Catriona Henrietta, aged 72 years. Funeral arrangements to follow.
MACTAGGART – Isabella Paton ‘Patsy’ MacTaggart (née Dow), late of Inveraray and Eas a’Chleibh, died peacefully aged 92 in Inverness on January 10, 2020. Beloved mother of Kenneth and Andrew, dear gran to Andrew Iain, Laura Ann, Alan Loughlin, Catriona Patricia and Ross MacPhedran, and great-granny to baby Ailsa. Sadly missed. Cremation in Inverness, and ashes to be interred at a later date in Glen Shira. Donations, if desired, to the Royal Osteoporosis Society may be forwarded to D. McDOUGALL – Donald, 25 Lynn Court, Oban, formerly of 26 Lochnell Road, Dunbeg, passed away peacefully, in A & E, Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, on Friday, January 10, 2020, a beloved dad, stepdad, grampa and brother. Will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will take place at Oban Parish Church, Glencruitten Road, Oban, on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 1.00 p.m. thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery.
MITCHELL – David died peacefully at home in Salen on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Funeral to be held in Acharacle Church on Saturday, January 18 at 12 noon. Light refreshments will follow the interment in Acharacle Cemetery at Jill’s, Ardshealach Lodge.
MORRISON – Helen Margaret (née Turnbull). Peacefully at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, on Thursday, January 9, 2020. Helen, (of the Isle of Mull), beloved wife of the late Neil, dearly loved mother of Donald, much loved granny/nannie to Wee Ruairidh, Amanda, Ruairidh, Ryan and Claire, and loving great granny to Ellie and Zara. Funeral service at Daldowie Crematorium, on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 1.00 p.m., to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. Donations will be gratefully received in aid of The British Liver Trust or to The Transplant Unit, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
CAMERON – Gregor, Allan and Kirsty Cameron would like to thank all those who attended our mother Flora’s funeral last month and are delighted to be able to donate £100 to Alzheimer’s Scotland and Oban’s Lion Club through their generosity. We would also like to express heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Etive House Care Home who went above and beyond in their care of our mum and us as a family during a very difficult time. They did everything in their power so that we all had space, time and sustenance during mum’s last days. Most importantly, mum’s dignity, peace and comfort was of uppermost priority at all times and was maintained to the last. We cannot thank them enough and will never forget their professionalism and kindness.
