A 29-year-old man from Oban has been given a community payback order for behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Steven Pattison of Solas, Albany Street, Oban, admitted engaging in a fight at Ellenabeich, Seil, on July 27 last year and shouting and swearing.

He also pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing and challenging others to a fight in Oban on November 3, 2019, as well as uttering offensive remarks and acting in a threatening and abusive manner in Dunbeg on November 22 last year.

He was sentenced at Oban Sheriff Court on Monday January 13 and Sheriff Patrick Hughes gave him a £120 fine, made him subject to a restriction of liberty order. He will also be subject to two years of social work supervision.
