Easdale Island’s New Year panto was magic.
This year’s adapted story was The Wizard of Ozzydale and, despite the inclement weather on Thursday January 2, it attracted such a big audience that only standing room was left in the island hall.
Performed by Easdale Island Very Amateur Dramatics, the cast and crew was made up of residents, part-time island dwellers and friends visiting for the festivities.
‘Not for the first time, the dress rehearsal, on the morning before the performance, was the first rehearsal with the complete cast in place!
The performance itself was a laugh a minute and enjoyed tremendously by all. Rave reviews followed that it was the best one yet!’ said Keren Cafferty, the island’s arts co-ordinator.
Donations that rolled in as people left raised just over £600 for the island charity Eilean Eisdeal.
