Scotland’s Coasts and Waters will be celebrated this year with a programme of activities across Scotland designed to inspire both visitors and locals to explore and experience our unrivalled shores.

To help us plan, and cover as many local events as possible The Oban Times is asking groups, organisations and individuals to let us know if they are doing something to mark the occasion.

Scotland’s sharp and jagged coastline can be a dangerous and unforgiving place, when treated with respect however it is also a place of outstanding beauty and majestic magnificence.

With its 800 islands the coastline is 11,000 miles long and the west coast in particular is heavily indented, its long promontories separated by fjordlike sea lochs give us plenty to celebrate and we want to help spread the word.

To let us know about your 2020 Coast and Waters event email us at editor@obantimes.co.uk or telephone o1631 568000 and ask to speak to someone from the editorial department.
