Dingwall – Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd on Wednesday December 18 sold 83 MV accredited edigree females at its annual show and sale.

The judge, Mrs K. Davidson, Corsairtly Farm, Keith, awarded the Texel champion to a Strathbogie Yes Sir sired gimmer, carrying a pair to Knock Yardsman, from Mr R. H. Wilson, (Milnbank), North Dorlaithers, Turriff, realising 4,000gns to Messrs James C. Innes and Sons, Dunscroft, Huntly. Reserve in the Texel section went to a Hollylee Acrobat sired gimmer carrying a pair also consigned by Mr R. H. Wilson, realising 1,000gns.
In the Suffolk section, champion went to a Castleisle Spotlight sired gimmer, carrying twins to Glenagh Winston, from Mr J. Douglas, Cairness, Fraserburgh, realising 800gns. The reserve award went to a Cairness High Achiever sired ewe carrying a pair to Glenagh Winston also consigned by Mr J. Douglas realising 600gns.
In lamb gimmers:
Texel sold to 4,000gns from Milnbank, North Dollaithers. Beltex sold to 800gns from Muirfield, Cuminestown. Suffolk sold to 800gns from Cairness, Fraserburgh. Millenium Blue sold to 750gns Muirfield, Cuminestown.
In lamb ewes:
Suffolk sold to 650gns from Cairness.
Ewe lambs: Texel sold to 320gns from Clinterty, Fraserburgh. Suffolk sold to 200gns from Marian, Culnaskeath.

Dairy Bullocks (18) – averaged 124.74p to 148.80p per kg for a 477kg BFX from Newpark, and £710 for a 477kg BFX from Newpark.
Heifers (44) – averaged 194.20p to 211.00p per kg for a 365kg CHX from West Park, and to £1060 for a 528kg LimX from Airthrey Kerse.
