Ferguson – David and Kate are delighted to announce the birth of Rose Ann on September 4, 2019 in Inverness. Granddaughter for John and the late Judy O’Rourke, Acharacle and for Ann and the late Donnie, Kilmore.
Chris & Rachel (Paterson) are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their third son Billy Ross Graham, born 2nd December, 2019 at the R.A.H. A little brother for Josh & Ronnie. Tenth grandchild for Dougie & Allison Graham, Oban & the third for James & Catherine MacMillan, Taynuilt.
Black – Sheena (née Kerr). Peacefully at home on Isle of Mull on December 12, 2019, formerly of Edentaggart, Luss, beloved wife of the late Thomas Black, much loved mother of Carol and the late Joan, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral service at Luss Parish Church on Friday, December 20 at 1.00pm followed by interment in Churchyard. Family flowers only please.
MACDONALD – Suddenly, but peacefully, at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead, after a short illness, on December 16, 2019, Geordie MacDonald (Duncan), in his 83rd year, of 45 Glenfyne Park, Ardrishaig, formerly of Ashfield, and Ellary Estate, beloved husband of the late Jean MacVean and much loved father of Malcolm. Dear brother of Jean, Mary, Lilly, Ena and Minnie, much respected brother-in-law, uncle and cousin to all the family, and a good neighbour, dear friend and work colleague to many. Funeral service will be held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, on Monday, December 23, 2019, thereafter to Achnabreac Cemetery.
Donations to British Heart Foundation and Mid Argyll Hospital.
MACFADYEN – Isabel. At Islay hospital on December 5, 2019, after a time of illness, aged 84 years. Much loved sister of Mary and beloved mother of Duncan, Janice, Donald and late Neil, grandmother and great-grandmother. Interred in Kilchoman. Greatly missed by all the family.
MACGILLIVRAY – Peacefully at Dal Mhor Care Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, Margaret (Maggie Moss), beloved wife of the late John, much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sadly missed.
O’CONNOR – Suddenly at home on December 10, 2019, Billy O’Connor, aged 69 years, Beechwood Road, Inverness (formerly of Glenkingie Street, Caol). Sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Service on Monday, December 23, at 2pm in Inverness Crematorium. All welcome to attend. No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to charities of his choice may be given at the door. Arrangements by D. Chisholm & Sons.
SCOTT – Peacefully, on December 12, 2019, at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, William, beloved husband of Grace, loving father of Caroline, Kenny and Tracey, adored papa to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will take place at Oban Parish Church, Glencruitten Road, Oban, on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 12 noon. Family flowers only, retiral collection for Erskine Hospital Residents’ Fund.
SHIELS – Robert. Peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban after a short illness, Robert (Bob) Shiels, aged 67 years of Port Appin. Funeral Service at Holytown Crematorium, Memorial Way, Holytown, ML1 5RU on Thursday, December 19 at 12.30pm. To which all friends are invited.
STEELE – (William) Gordon, aged 82, of 7 Lodge Avenue, Inverness, passed away peacefully at home on December 15 after a long illness, bravely borne. A much-loved husband, father and grandfather.He is survived by wife Nan (née MacPhail), two children and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements, by D. Chisholm & Sons, to be confirmed. Family flowers only, please. 
CLINCH – Albert, Elaine and Anita would like this opportunity to acknowledge and thank their extended family, friends, neighbours and all well-wishers for their loving, caring gestures and support on the unexpected, sudden loss of their beloved mum, Hilda. Special thanks to Alyson Stewart for conducting the wonderful heartfelt ceremony to celebrate our mother’s life and to Linnie and John from MacLellan’s Funeral Directors for their caring support and guidance with all the arrangements. Particular thanks to all who contributed their special memories for Alyson to relay at the ceremony, and through our laughter and tears, remind us of mum’s fulfilled life. Additional thanks to Shona for the lovely flowers and to the team at The Railway Club for the buffet. All monies donated have been passed to the local Macmillan nurses.
GALBRAITH – The family of the late Archie (Baldy) Galbraith would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy extended to them in so many ways during their recent sad loss. Grateful thanks to staff at Mid Argyll Community Hospital. To the Rev Hilda Smith for her very comforting service. To Donald MacDonald, funeral directors for their caring and professional service. Many thanks to the Stag Hotel for their excellent purvey. Finally sincere thanks to all who paid their last respects and who donated generously to the retiral collection which raised £710.00 for British Heart Foundation.
LEE – Carole, Graeme, Gareth and Gina would like to express their thanks to everyone who attended the service for Jim Lee who sadly passed away on November 23. The donations gathered amounted to £606 which will be split evenly between the family’s chosen charities, Lochaber MS Society and the local Macmillan cancer support nurses. They would also like to extend their thanks to the Glen Mor Medical Practice and the Macmillan nurses for all their support and care in the past few months.The family are also extremely grateful to Alyson Stewart who performed a beautiful service and the caring professional service provided by John McLellan & Co.
MACINTOSH – Sheila and family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind wishes, cards and phone calls received following the sad loss of Ronnie. Special thanks to Fr MacKinnon and also to Fr Danny and Bishop Toal for the beautiful service, Mr Rose and choir for the lovely singing. Special thanks to Dr Munro, Dr Campbell and all the team at Tweeddale Medical Practice, the Lochaber Macmillan Nurses who were outstanding in their care for Ronnie, Dr Mmeka and his team at Raigmore Hospital, Mr Scott and his team at Belford Hospital, Stoma Nurse Mrs Cathy King. Andrew Orr for his piping which was excellent despite the extreme weather conditions. Grateful thanks to John McLellan, Funeral Directors for their most professional and caring help with all the arrangements and the Stronlossit Hotel for first class level of service, McDonald Bros for the lovely flowers. Finally thank you all who donated so generously to the retiring collection in aid of Lochaber Macmillan Nurses, raising the sum of £627.10.
Ronnie was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
MACINTYRE – The family of the late Hughie would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy and support shown to them on his death. For all the flowers, cards and phone calls. Thanks to Fr James MacNeil, Dr Emma Boyle, Roseann, Carers Direct and latterly over the last few weeks staff at ward B, Lorn and Islands Hospital. To Catriona at Hamish Hoey and Son for the care and compassionate funeral arrangements, Petals of Oban and the Royal Hotel for Catering and thanks to all who came to pay their last respects and who donated to the collection for ABCD which raised £565.26.
McEWAN – The family of the late Helen McEwan would sincerely like to thank all friends and family for their calls, cards, flowers and messages of sympathy and support shown to them on our recent sad loss. Thank you to all who paid their respects at the funeral services in St. John’s Cathedral, Oban and at Perth Crematorium. We wish to extend our grateful thanks to the Very Rev’d Canon Margi Campbell for her support to us and for the comforting and uplifting services and to Catriona and all at Hamish Hoey for their professional and sensitive care.
A life well lived, now at peace. 
McPHAIL – Dougie, Wilma, Cameron and Morvern would like to thank everyone for their sympathy and support at Catriona’s passing. Thanks to staff at Cradlehall Nursing Home, Inverness for all their love and attention during her 20 years in their care. Also to Rev Dugald Cameron for the comforting service, to Ian at D&A Munn who took Catriona back to Oban for a sincere and dignified funeral service, also the Royal Hotel for refreshments. A collection of £133 went to Cradlehall Nursing Home Resident’s Fund.
McRAE – The family of the late Nancy McRae would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to all at Culloden Medical Practice for their dedicated care over many years, to the carers in Cawder Unit, Cradlehall Care Home. To D&A Munn for professional funeral arrangements, Rev. Jenny Earl for a sincere and comforting service, The Thistle and The Rose for beautiful floral arrangements and Argyll Arms Hotel for catering. Finally thanks to all who paid their respects at the Church and graveside, and generously donated £276.55 to Oban Dementia Resource Centre.
