Oban’s newest building supplies business has thrown its weight behind a high profile squash competition to be held in Oban in the spring.
Elite players, referees and their supporters will travel to Atlantis Leisure on March 27, 28 and 29 next year where they will compete to gain ranking points for eventual seeding in the International Squash circuit.
This high profile Professional Squash Asscociation (PSA) competition is creating excitement both nationally and locally and MKM Building Supplies, who opened their doors at the beginning of the month, are only to happy to help out.
Sandy Cameron, MKM branch director, said: ‘It is important to us as a local business to support local events.
‘It will be great to see a competition of such high standards being played in Oban.’
Mr Cameron presented a cheque for £500, to Jackie Kersley, squash convenor and club secretary of Oban Tennis and Squash Club on Monday.
‘We are delighted that MKM are supporting this PSA competition and the club is looking forward to welcoming these elite squash players to the town.’
BID4Oban chief executive, Andrew Spence, has also said that they will provide core funding for this prestigious event and welcomes the opportunity to showcase Oban.
