Fire fighters are currently battling a blaze at Oban’s Lochavullin Car Park involving two vehicles.

A camper van was engulfed by flames and a car was damaged by the fire, which started before 4pm in the Argyll and Bute Council run car park.

A loud explosion was heard and smoke could be seen for some distance.

As of 5.10pm, Emergency services were still on scene and Lochavullin Road had been reopened.

The Scottish And Fire Rescue Service confirmed that a camper van was on fire and two appliances were in attendance.
