Oban High School Pipe Band were on song last week when they received a cheque for £250 from Oban and Lorn Lions Club.

The cash was raised during the summer when the local benefactors presented evenings of Highland entertainment at McCaigs Tower, featuring OHS Pipe Band and dancers on the first Thursday of each month.

Lions Club member Robert Chipchase said: ‘We have enjoyed a successful season at McCaig’s tower which will enable us to help many worthwhile causes in and around the town.

‘We are most appreciative of the donations that have been made by visitors from all over the world and, of course, the dedication of Oban High School Pipe Band and dancers who provided first rate entertainment.’
