Fort manager Russell MacMorran says his young side is growing in confidence and learning with every game and this will stand his players in good stead when they go into action away to Inverurie Locos on Saturday.

‘We are looking forward to get back into action again, as our fixtures have been a bit disjointed due to cup competitions and call offs, which can’t be helped and it seem like a long time since we’ve had a run of games,’ MacMorran told the Lochaber Times this week.

Fort William manager Russell MacMorran.

‘We make the trip to Harlan park to play Inverurie locos on Saturday, which will no doubt prove to be a good game. Locos currently sit joint top of the league and we are sitting at the foot of the table due to the lack of competitive games. We find ourselves 6 games in hand against locos which is a unique position to be while at the foot of the table.

‘As disappointing as our result against Fraserburgh was, we took a lot of positives from the game, which we will take into our game on Saturday.

‘With all cup distractions out the way now we will be looking to progress in the league and make the most of our games in hand.

‘My young side is growing in confidence and learning with every game. We will give Locos the respect their position in the league requires, but again we will not be the same side that they faced at the beginning of the season.’

As of Saturday, Fort William FC’s top scorers (for all competitions) are:

Ross Gunn: 6 goals ‬
‪Jack Brown: 4 goals‬
‪Roddy Kennedy: 4 goals‬
‪Aidan Taylor. 3 goals‬
‪Gabriel Hastings: 2 goals‬
‪Jordan Andrew: 2 goals‬
‪Harry Nicolson: 2 goals‬
‪Daryl Taylor: 1 goal‬
‪Robert Nevison: 1 goal‬
‪Donald Morrison: 1 goal‬

There was no match for Fort at the weekend and next up is a 270-mile round trip to face 2nd placed side Inverurie Locos in the Highland League this Saturday.  Kick-off is 2pm‬.
