Aggregate Industries, which operates the quarry at Glensanda, has a new intake of apprentices.

Lauren Turner, Stewart Twort and Cammie Douglas were photographed with Paul Kersley, engineering manager – mechanical; Calum Carnie, quarry manager; James Scott, engineering team leader; and Alasdair Anderson, engineering manager – electrical.

Lauren, Stewart and Cameron recently started their careers at Glensanda. All three will complete a four-year apprenticeship, studying at the Glasgow College on a block release basis along with working on site where they will all have their own mentor to guide them.

The quarry presently has three employees studying for their HNC, with a further two apprentices who are in the third year of their programme.
