Organisers have started the countdown for this year’s Big Quiz in the Corran Halls on Saturday November 16, where teams from around the country will all take part in the biggest nationwide quiz ever.
Last year the local community filled the halls to take part in the biggest multi-venue, nationwide fundraiser, with friends, families, church and businesses all helping to make the event a huge success, raising £1,500 for Tearfund, which helps some of the world’s poorest people.
This year, as well as the main quiz, there will also be a table-top sale of homebaking and tablet, plus a mini auction of items kindly donated by local businesses and individuals. Organisers would also love to hear from anyone able to make a donation to cover the cost of hall hire and equipment, or provide prizes for quiz winners.
Mary Black, who is again organising the event, said: ‘We are very much looking forward to this year’s event after the wonderful support we received last year. We had 156 people taking part, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Tables will seat up to eight quizzers, and teas, coffee and cake will be served at the event.
The event starts at 7pm and tickets priced £5 are available from the Corran Halls on 01631 567333.
