Sixteen ladies from Oban squash team travelled to Maryhill last Saturday to compete against Scotland’s oldest club SSRC.

There was a fair amount of trepidation and excitement beforehand as this was the first competition for some of the ladies.

SSRC’s Sabrina Tengku Nur put on an excellent display of squash confirming why she is ranked number three in the West Squash League. The Oban ladies held their own with some consistent and impressive play, running out 2-1 winners.

The result was just rewards for the hard work by the team and the continued support from sponsors.

A special mention goes to coach Colin MacNiven for giving up his time on a weekly basis and for driving the team to events.

The Oban Ladies Squash Team continues to grow and is always looking for new members. They train at Atlantis Leisure on Monday nights from 6.30pm to 9pm.
