STEWART – MUNRO – Faye and Jamie are delighted to announce the birth of their son David MacLean on September 22, 2019. Third grandchild for Allan and Kay Stewart, Taynuilt and also for Ewen and the late Joyce Munro.
ARTHUR – John. Greenaton Farm, Lanarkshire (formerly of Lagnaha Farm, Duror). Peacefully on September 22, 2019 at Kello Hospital, Biggar. Much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
MACINTYRE – Ian Malcolm Grant, 17th Chieftain of Camus-na-h-Erie on September 26, in his 80th year, beloved long term companion of Anne, Countess of Dunmore, loving and adored father of Duncan, Annabelle and Abby, sorely missed by Katie, Rebecca and their families and by his grandchildren; Skye, Rosie, Zara, Poppy, Lily, Jack, Kitty, Lulu and Florrie. Thanksgiving Service to be held at the Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh on Wednesday, October 16 at 2pm. All welcome, family flowers only.
MACLAREN – Iain Ferguson MacLaren FRCSEd FRCS. Died peacefully on October 3, 2019, aged 92 with his wife, Fiona and children, Catriona and Patrick beside him. He was deeply loved by each of them, by his grandchildren, Calum, Elizabeth, Jamie and Tommy and by his many friends. There will be a private cremation with a service of thanksgiving to follow at 11am on October 12, 2019 at Mayfield Parish Church, Edinburgh to which all are invited. No flowers please.
MILLER – On September 27, 2019, John McFarlane Miller, aged 87, passed away after a short illness at the Belford Hospital, Fort William. Much loved husband to Patricia, father to Gillian, Wendy and Jamie and loving Papa to Bekah, Leila and Jack. Funeral on Tuesday, October 15, service in St John’s Kirk, Perth at 11.00am committal thereafter in Wellshill Cemetery, cortege arriving Jeanfield Road Gate, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. There will be a retiring collection taken at the church for the RNLI should you wish to contribute.
POWELL – Jevan Brooke passed away peacefully on September 30, 2019 at home surrounded by family aged 77 years. Much loved dad, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend to all. He will be dearly missed and remain in our hearts forever. Jevan’s funeral will take place at Lincoln Crematorium on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 10.30am, all welcome. REID – Suddenly but peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in her 87th year, Frances Reid (née Yeoman). Surrounded by the love of her family. Much loved mum, mum-in-law, grannie, great-grannie and auntie. Very sorely missed.
BROWN – The family of the late Jim Brown would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy, phone calls, visits, flowers and cards received following their sad loss. Special thanks to Doctors and Nursing Staff of Glenaray Ward, Collette Morgan and her team, for all their care, attention and support given to Jim, both at home and hospital, during his illness.  The kindness and compassion shown to all was greatly appreciated. Our thanks to Margaret Sinclair for a comforting and personal service, to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for efficient and caring arrangements; and to the Atlantic Island Centre on Luing for catering. Our thanks to all who attended at church and made the trip to Luing to pay their respects at the graveside.  The retiral collection raised over £800 for Macmillan Nurses & Glenaray Ward.
FERGUSON – The family of the late Sandra Ferguson would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for all their kindness and help through this difficult time, we would like to thank John and his staff for the professional and friendly way they conducted their business .We would also like to thank Brian Tregaskis from the Belford Hospital and Dr Joe Tangney and their teams for looking after Sandra over the last 18 years when she was first diagnosed with Lupus. We would also like to thank Rev Richard Baxter for his guidance and the way he conducted a special service, we as a family found it so comforting. Sandy will never be forgotten she will always be in our thoughts and she will be remembered for her humour, kindness thoughtfulness to others, a perfect mother and wonderful wife. 
MILLER – Patricia (Tricia) would like to thank her family, friends and neighbours for all their kindness, words of support, gifts and cards after the passing of John. Special thanks to the nurses in Ward 1 at the Belford Hospital for their unfailing care to John and to Dr John Wallace for his house calls which John appreciated. Also to Lynn for her continual support through John’s illness.
WHITEFIELD – The family of the late John Whitefield would like to sincerely thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind words and expressions of sympathy, cards, flowers, phone calls and visits received following their recent sad loss of John. Special thanks to every member of staff at Ardfenaig Residential Home, to the home care team, Dr Strain, Dr Phillips and staff from the Mid Argyll Hospital for the exceptional care throughout recent times. Our thanks are also extended to Graham McLean for a most personal and uplifting service. Grateful thanks to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for their support and caring arrangements. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to all who attended the church and graveside, from near and far, to pay their respects. The retiral collection in aid of Alzheimer Scotland and Ardfenaig Residential Home Comfort Fund raised £385.
