MACKENZIE – CATHRO – Catriona (Isle of Seil) and Ben (Oban) were married at Comrie Croft, Perthshire, on September 24, 2019, a happy start to married life in Pitlochry.
BROWN – Peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on September 24, 2019, James (Jim) Brown, in his 85th year, of Innishail, Ford, by Lochgilphead, formerly of  Drimvore, and the Island of Luing, retired postman and church officer, beloved husband of Violet and loving father of Lorraine and Morven, and a much loved and adored grandpa of Iona, Duncan, Rowan, Douglas, Roshan, Digby and Nisha. Brother of Mary-Margaret and respected father-in-law of Angus and Robin. Funeral service will be held at Lochgilphead Parish Church, today, Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 10.00am, thereafter to Kilchattan Cemetery, Isle of Luing at 1.45pm. All friends are respectfully invited to attend. 
MACCORQUODALE – Neil Iain MacCorquodale left us suddenly but tragically on September 26, 2019 in Appin. Loving husband and best friend to Gillian, much loved precious dad to Craig, Katie, Abi and Ben. Dear son to Alex and the late Jeanette, brother to Alison, Kirstene and Sandy, son-in-law to Wylie and Sandra, brother-in-law to Grant and Spiff, Gordon and Julie, bestest uncle to Emma, Holly, Ewan, Freya and Rosie. We will miss your cheeky smile but you will always be in our hearts xx. Funeral arrangements to follow.
MACKINTOSH – Peacefully in Abbeyfield Care Home on Thursday, September 26, Joan Margaret MacKintosh aged 82 years (Retired Lochaber Teacher), fifth daughter of James and Maryann MacKintosh formerly of Nether Lochaber Hotel, Corran.  Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, October 7 at 10.15am from St. Mary’s R.C. Fort William thereafter to Cille Choirill Cemetery, Roy Bridge.  Family flowers only please donations if desired for Cancer Research U.K.
MACLEAN – David (Tiger), Ballachulish. Peacefully at home after enduring a long illness with courage and dignity. David’s funeral will take place at Cardross Crematorium on Tuesday, October 8 at 1.15pm. Family flowers only. Enquiries to John McLellan Funeral Directors, Tel 01397 702128.
WHITEFIELD – Peacefully at Ardfenaig Residential Home on September 26, 2019 with his family by his side, John in his 84th year. Loving husband of the late Nan, much loved dad to Graham, Joyce, Janice and Irene, dear father-in-law to Alison, Keith, Robert and Donald. Adored Grandpa to Craig, Ross, Lewis, Ashleigh, Rebecca, Keir, Aaron, Caitlin, Eoghan and Isla and Great Grandpa to Harper, Daisy and Heidi. A dear brother, uncle and friend to many. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 4 at Glassary, Kilmartin and Ford Parish Church, Kilmartin at 12noon. Donations if desired to Alzheimer Scotland and Ardfenaig Residential Home comfort fund.
MACFARLANE – The family of the late Lies MacFarlane would like to invite you to a service at Cille Choirill Cemetery on Saturday, October 19 at 12 noon where her ashes will be laid to rest with her husband Donald Peter MacFarlane.
FLANNINGAN – The family of Gerry would like to thank everyone for kindness, support, messages and cards received over recent weeks. Many thanks to all who attended the funeral and gave so generously to the collection. The sum of £1048.91 has been passed to the Dove Centre. Thanks also to Catriona MacFarlane and the team at Hoey’s for their expert handling of the funeral. Our hearts are broken but you all helped us to continue.
JOHNSTON – The family of the late Vivienne Johnston (formerly of Tiree) wish to thank all relatives, former neighbours and friends for help and sympathy shown to them in their recent bereavement. Donations to the amount of £202.50 were collected for the Highland Hospice and the British Heart Foundation at the funeral service. Thank you to John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness for their excellent funeral arrangements, and likewise to the Co-operative Funeral Directors in Tiree at the interment.
MACNEIL – The family of the late Archie MacNeil wish to thank most sincerely all friends and neighbours for the kind expressions of sympathy extended to them on their recent sad bereavement. Special thanks to the Rev Fr John Paul MacKinnon, staff of St Brendan’s Hospital and Home, Sandra and all his carers.
