Inverlochy primary shinty team showed off their trophy haul from last season and which the youngsters have already added to this season by recently scooping the Kingussie 6s trophy for the third year in a row.

Proud coach Robert MacMillan commented: ‘The team went the entire year losing only one game in all competitions scoring 140-plus goals and conceding only 15.

‘We won the Mackay Cup for the second year running, matching the last Inverlochy team to win it in 1964 and 1965; I am confident we can go one step better and make it three in a row.

‘There was a lot of travelling over the course of the year and I would like to thank the parents for their endless offers to wash strips, organise transport etc; it certainly helped with the success on the pitch.

‘Thanks also to Donnie Robertson joinery and Ian Stewart fish sales for kind donations towards equipment.

‘A fantastic bunch of kids who give their all and play exactly as asked of them. Here’s to another successful year ahead having started by already securing the Kingussie 6s trophy for the third season in a row.’
