What a lovely wee blast of summer we enjoyed at the weekend.
Lots of people made the most of it and enjoyed everything that was on, including the last Oban Town Market of the season.
It’s feeling really autumnal now and a few of the shops having been stocking Christmas things since the end of August, which I must admit is a bit too soon for me.
I am looking forward to the Oban Winter Festival, though, and noticed on Facebook that things are progressing so if you haven’t already, visit their Facebook page, give it a ‘like’ and you’ll be kept up to date with what’s coming up.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves however. This weekend has lots to offer, especially if you like music.
On Saturday, the Corran Halls has Highlights from Scottish Opera and St John’s Cathedral has the amazing Glasgow Phoenix Choir.
For those of you who like a little more glitter (me), then Saturday night is going to be so sparkly in Oban with Glitter Ball 2019 in the Argyllshire Gathering Halls.
If you have the energy on Sunday, then the World Stone Skimming Championships are on Easdale which is a great day out, even if it’s raining.
And not forgetting that the Bookends Festival is in Benderloch this week which is always worth a visit.
So much to do but so little time!
The photo last week is above one of the shops in Stafford Street, Oban Whisky and Fine Wine if my memory serves, and this week’s is close by but I don’t think many of you will have noticed.
