Volunteer recruitment was a subject discussed by Fort William Town Team (FWTT) members at their August meeting recently.

The meeting heard that the number of volunteers remains low and discussed different communication streams to encourage more members and also improved ways of working together to plan ad hoc work days.

A Facebook closed group was suggested and agreed so members could message one another if required.

Other suggestions included automated email notifications to volunteers with details of work days and/or working in different areas around the town to raise the profile of FWTT and hopefully encourage additional members.

Posters around town was another suggestion, items on Nevis Radio and setting up new mailing accounts.

All these ideas will be considered in a bid to recruit more people.

The next FWTT meeting will be Monday September 9 at 7pm, with the venue still to be confirmed.
