Andrew Martin, Lewis Campbell and Farquhar MacRae have all joined the Jags, bringing a great deal of experience to the side with each of them having competed at Highland League level in the past.
Martin, well-known throughout the football community of Lochaber as Zoomer, is a combative centre half who captained Fort William for more than a decade. About his signing, Zoomer said: ‘The big attraction was coming back to football with a great bunch of guys. I’ve worked with Alan Gray before and am looking forward to the challenge.’
MacRae, also a tough tackling defender, said: ‘After being out for so long with injury, it’s great to be back playing and training with a good squad of guys. The aim is to get back playing regularly and to keep winning trophies.’
Lewis Campbell, known as Shraps, is an accomplished player capable of operating at the back or in midfield. He said: ‘Division One is going to be a big challenge for the lads. SLT has got some great players and I’m sure we’ll be a difficult away trip for many of the teams. I’m really looking forward to having a good season.’
Alan Gray was delighted with the signings. ‘These are three top class players who will help us build on our success of winning the league last season,’ he said.
