Sunday August 25, Glen Tarff, Fort Augustus.

Park at start of walk at NH374085. Head SE along road to old burial ground and then S to join minor road just N of Culachy House. Head S on drive, passing gate house, and then skirt round to the E of Culachy boundary fence. Once past Culachy House, follow track marked on the map that runs S, the entire length of Glen Tarff. Where the River Tarff forks at NH395020, follow track up to General Wade’s Military Road back N to Culachy House.
Pass the house on the W. Rejoin the minor road crossed on outward route and return to start passing the old burial ground.
Grade: M. Distance 12km. Height to climb 400m. Maps LR34, EX400. Meet at: Fort William WM NN112742 at 0915 fo start of walk NH374085 at 1000.

Thursday August 29: Glean Domhanaidh, Torlundy.

Start at the Gondola Lift car park NN170773. Walk due West along the ski resort road to a forest track at NN169773. Follow this westward in to Gleann Domhanaidh and continue through to Torlundy alongside the River Lundy. Just before the bridge over the railway, turn left and follow the track southwards past the North Face car park. The track continues and bends eastwards, follows the Allt na Caillich for a while, then leads back to the start. The walk may be extended using other tracks and paths in the area.
Grade: L*. Distance: 7km. Height gained: 90m. Maps: LR41, EX392. Meet at: East end of the gondola lift car park at 1000. Leader : Helen Critchley 01397 712346 or 07789 253701.

Saturday August 24, Beinn Fhada, Ben More, Isle of Mull.
This is the most interesting approach to this isolated Island Munro, the only one outside of Skye.
Travel arrangements and meeting times:
Oban Ferry Terminal NM855298 for 0730 sailing (check-in 30 mins prior to departure, and advance booking advisable; Corran Ferry Slip NN021635 for 0730 sailing; Lochaline Ferry Slip NM679446 for 0845 sailing (check-in 10 mins prior to departure). Coffee and rendezvous at Salen Hotel at 0900.
Members travelling by bus from Craignure to Salen will need car transport to and from start of walk.
Start from the bridge on the B8035 at NM517374. Limited parking is available in the vicinity. Follow the S bank of the Scarisdale River to its confluence with the Allt Coire nan Gabhar. Climb S up the ridge to reach a small summit, 563m, then continue SE up to the summit of *Beinn Fhada, 702m. Turn SSW down to a col at the head of Gleann na Beinne Fada, NM537344.
Head up S to reach a prominent ridge leading to the summit of A’ Chioch. Turn W and descend to col. The ridge becomes more rocky and exposed. Follow it SW up to the small summit plateau of Ben More, 966m. Descend NW on a path to the CP at Dhiseig, NM493359. Transport required 5 mins from start.
*Beinn Fhada may also be reached by a traverse of Beinn a’ Ghraig, 591m and Beinn nan Gabhar, 572m. In this case, follow the N bank of the Scarisdale river. At the confluence, head ENE up to the summit ridge of Beinn a’ Ghraig.
