Fort William Bike Kitchen is running repair workshops on Thursday evenings until August 22. The free workshops are from 7-9pm at An Drochaid in Claggan. Email email@example.com or call 01397 700090 to book. The events will include tips on basic bike maintenance as well as dealing with punctures and adjusting and repairing brakes and gears.
On Saturday, August 17, Glengarry Heritage Centre will hold a car boot sale at Glengarry Community Hall in aid of the centre. It will hopefully be in the car park, but if the weather is not good it will be tables in the hall. It will be open from 10am-3pm. The Community Cafe will be open as well as the Heritage Centre. On Saturday, August 17, there will be a Strawberry Tea and Family Fun day at An Clachan, Lochaber Rural Complex from 11am-2pm. Family ticket (for four) £10, individuals £3. The museum will be open and there will be a sales table, raffle and competitions for children. Come and see the lovely children’s gardens.
The Glenfinnan Gathering and Highland Games takes place on Saturday, August 17, from 11am at the Games Field.
Come along to Abbeyfield House in Ballachulish on Monday August 19 from 10.30am until 12.30pm to find out about the free services on offer from Lochaber Sensory Care. Trained staff and volunteers will be available to service and repair NHS hearing aids; offer support and advice on living with sensory loss and discuss options for equipment designed to help around the home.
There will be an extraordinary general meeting of Fort William Photographic Society on Tuesday August 20 at 7pm in the Salvation Army Hall, Fort William. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss how the society can evolve to involve the current membership more and to attract additional members. Members and non-members are being urged to attend as the society needs input and ideas.
Fèis Lochabair is planning to hold an EGM on Wednesday September 4 to help recruit new committee members to organise next year’s Fèis. The EGM is from 6.30pm at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar.
