The chief executive of BID4Oban has condemned the ‘mindless vandals’ who removed and threw a flower basket into the Black Lynn.
Andrew Spence said he was ‘absolutely disgusted’ at what has been done at the Combie Street bridge.
He said: ‘These are heavy pieces of equipment that take at least two people to lift. We sincerely hope you got great pleasure from this act of vandalism in our beautiful town. That’s £250 of equipment down the river.’
He added: ‘They were secured with heavy duty bolts. It would have taken a huge amount of effort to get them off.’
The incident is believed to have taken place on Monday night.
