Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road collision on the A85 near Crianlarich.

The incident involving two cars, a black BMW and a white Subaru, happened around 12.30pm on Saturday, July 27.

The 79-year-old passenger of the Subaru, Kenny Mackenzie from the Helensburgh area, was pronounced dead at the scene and the 73-year-old female driver of the vehicle was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow, where she is being treated for serious injuries.

A 38-year-old man who was in the BMW was treated for minor injuries.

Sergeant David Marr of Stirling’s Road Policing Unit said: ‘We are sad to report that as a result of a vehicle collision on Saturday a male has died.

‘We would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Kenny Mackenzie at this very difficult time.

‘We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped at the scene to provide first aid to the injured parties and to those who made contact with the emergency services.

‘We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident to contact the police.

‘We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.’
