CRAWFORD – Andrew and Jo-Anna are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter Sophie Rosemary at RAH, Paisley on June 23, 2019. Fourth grandchild for Jimmie and Lesley, Oban and fifth grandchild for Lawrence and Anna, Whalsay, Shetland.
LAWRIE – John W. (Ian), peacefully at “Ealas-Dol”, Tomacharrich, surrounded by family on Thursday June 27, 2019, aged 72 years. A loving husband of Helen, a much loved dad of John, Ilene, Donald and Angus, an adoring grandad and a loyal friend to many. A service of thanksgiving for his life will take place on Thursday July 4, 2019 in the Duncansburgh-MacIntosh Parish Church and thereafter he will be laid to rest at Blarour Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired, can be made at the service. All proceeds will go to to Robin House (Children’s Hospice) and Marie Curie Cancer Care. All friends and family are respectfully invited.
MACDONALD – Samuel. Peacefully at Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Beloved husband to the late Nancy, a much loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 12, 2019 at St Columba’s Parish Church Kirkintilloch at 9.45 am thereafter to Daldowie Crematorium for 11.00 am. Will be sadly missed by all.
MACDONALD – Jessie Catherine (Jay), Schoolhouse, Barcaldine, Argyll, in her 96th year. Last of the family of the late Captain John MacDonald and his wife Matilda (Sinclair), of Springbank, Tobermory. Sister of the late Iain and Juliet (Sheila). A loved and admired aunt, great-aunt and good friend of many. Dauntless to the last. Funeral will take place at 1pm on Friday, July 5 at Kiel Church, Lochaline, to which all friends are respectfully invited.
McDOUGALL – Mary (née Cameron of Branault, Ardnamurchan), peacefully at home on June 29, 2019, beloved wife of Ian McDougall, much loved mum of Cameron and Kenneth. Very dear mum-in-law of Violet, cherished “Gaga” of Robbie and loving sister and auntie to all the family. Funeral service will be held in United Church of Bute on Friday July 5 at 12 noon, interment thereafter at North Bute Cemetery.
McGLASHAN – Ronald (Ronnie), Bonnyrigg. Peacefully on Friday June 28, 2019 at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, aged 84 years. Ronnie, loving husband to Rose, much loved father to Hazel and Heather, father-in-law to David and Stephen, grandfather to David. A service will take place at Mortonhall Crematorium, main Chapel on Friday July 5 at 11am to which all are welcome. Family flowers only.
THOMSON – Col William Grimmitt Thomson MB CHB FRCS, a former resident of Craignure, Isle of Mull, also formerly an officer in Her Majesty’s Forces serving with the RAMC, has passed away peacefully on June 22, 2019. Bill will be sorely missed by his wife, Mabel and their children, David, Anne-Marie and Andrew, their 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his daughter-in-law Sue, and son-in-law Raymond. The family welcome all at the cremation service to be held at Cardross Crematorium, Main Road, Cardross G82 5HD on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 1.15pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers for Cancer Research. A memorial service on the Isle of Mull will take place at a date to be arranged.
CAMERON – John, Ann, Sandra, Rachel and their families would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to relatives, friends and neighbours for the love and support shown to them on the sad loss of their beloved mother, Bella. We have been overwhelmed by all the cards, letters, telephone and personal calls. Special thanks to Dr. Murray, girls at Bunessan Surgery, District Nurses, Bella’s Carers and the Ambulance Crews. To Billy McClymont for professional funeral arrangements, Jenny Earl for a most sincere and comforting service, the Keel Row for their catering and Malcolm for the tributes and music. We would like to thank everyone who travelled from far and near to pay their last respects at the house and graveside for a very special lady. The generous donation of £678 was raised and will be shared between Bunessan Surgery and MICH. No longer in our lives, but forever in our hearts.
CAMPBELL – James and Caroline would like to thank everybody for all the cards messages and phone calls following the passing of Frances. A special thanks to the doctors and district nurses of Craig Nevis Surgery, to the staff in the Belford Hospital, Lochaber Macmillan Nurses and The Home Care Team for all the care shown to Frances. Grateful and heartfelt thanks to John, Linnie, Stuart and Peter for all the support, care, understanding and the attention with the funeral arrangements. To the Corpach Hotel for the catering and finally thanks to all who attended the service over £321.20 was collected for Craig Nevis District Nurses.
DOUGALL – The family of the late Iain Dougall of Iona would like to thank everyone for all the kindnesses, cards and support following his death in March. An overwhelming send-off at the funeral and over the next few days raised a total of £750 for the British Heart Foundation.
MACCALLUM – The family of the late Elizabeth would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for cards, gifts, visits, phone calls and flowers received following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to the staff of North Argyll Care Home for their care and support given to mum during her stay there, to Ian MacInnes of D&A Munn for all his help, guidance and professionalism, to Rev Dugald Cameron for a warm and comforting service, to Petals of Oban for the beautiful floral arrangements and to Colin and Joan Felgate, The Olive Garden, Oban for their sympathetic catering and hospitality. Sincere thanks also to all who paid their respects at the church and graveside. Many thanks to all who gave so generously to the North Argyll Residents Fund.
SMITH – The family and loved ones would like to thank all those who took the time out to show their respect for the passing of Rosemary Smith. We very much appreciate the care and support too she received during her time at Onich. A thank you to all in the local community.
