Robert MacMillan said a fond farewell to Mallaig Harbour Authority last Friday after 35 years.

Colleagues, past and present, as well as family and friends from the local community, gathered together at the Harbour Office to wish him all the best for his retirement.

Mr MacMillan, who is 71, has worked for the ports and fishing industry in the Mallaig area since leaving school.

He says he is looking forward to spending some time in the garden with his wife Anne, but that seafaring will always be in his blood.
