The organisers of the annual D & K Lafferty Cup tournament, Oban Saints, say everything is in place for this year’s competition.
The six-team tournament, in its 26th year, will take place at Mossfield Stadium and Glencruitten rugby pitch on Saturday July 13.
Teams taking part are old friends from the Scottish Premier League Hamilton Accies along with Scottish Championship sides Dundee United, who won the tournament last year, and Alloa Athletc.
St Anthony’s will represent the junior side of Scottish football with newly-promoted Greater Glasgow League outfit South Lochaber Thistle along with hosts Oban Saints flying the flag for the amateurs.
The competition which starts at 11am is a round-robin event with the teams playing each other in short, sharp 30-minute games to see who will take home the impressive D & K Lafferty Cup.
Organiser David Buchanan said: ‘It’s a great day of football played in a friendly but competitive manner.
‘There are 15 games on the day so supporters can pick and choose which games they want to watch.’
