BARTHOLOMEW – Alison (née Mackenzie) of Calgary. Peacefully at Lorn and IslandsHospital on June 22, 2019, aged 90 years. Adored mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Happy and active almost to the last. Funeral at GrulineChurch next week date to be advised.
CAMERON – Very peacefully on June 19, 2019 surrounded by her family, Annabella Cameron, Knockvologan, Isle of Mull. Beloved wife of the late Hugh Cameron, loving mother of John, Ann, Sandra and Rachel. Dear mother-in-law, nana and great-granny. A special lady forever in our hearts. Funeral service was held at Knockvologan on Thursday June 27, 2019 thereafter to Suidhe Cemetery.
MACCALLUM – Peacefully, at North Argyll Care Home, Oban, on June 19, 2019, Elizabeth, formerly of 15 Mossfield Drive, Oban, beloved wife of the late Donnie, dearly loved mother of Elaine, Kenneth and Patricia, and a much loved mother-in-law and granny.
MACIVER – Angus. Suddenly at Belford Hospital, Fort William on June 21, 2019, beloved husband of Flora and a very dear father, stepfather and grandfather. Funeral service on June 28 at 12 noon at Nether Lochaber Parish Church and interment thereafter at Kinlochmore Cemetery. Family flowers only please, but donations to The British Heart Foundation may, if desired, be made at the Church.
MASON – David, (lately of Begbroke, Oxon), peacefully at Lorn and Island Hospital, June 6, 2019. Private cremation at Cardross, June 20, 2019. With grateful thanks to the staff at the hospital for their care and to Duncan Gunn for the arrangements.
McLELLAND – Janice (née Alexander)(Linlithgow). Peacefully at home on June 17, 2019, Janice aged 62 years, a much loved wife of Alasdair and a dear sister and aunt of the family. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 2 at West Lothian Crematorium at 11.00 am to which all are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please as there will be a retiral collection in lieu of flowers for Cancer Research.
NICOL – Avril passed away peacefully at home, in Clachan Seil, on June 23, 2019, in her 73rd year, much loved wife of John. Funeral will take place at St. Oran’s Church, Connel, on Friday, July 5 at 1.00 p.m., thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Retiral collection/donations if desired will be taken for Cancer Research UK.
VENTERS – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on June 23, 2019, Patricia (Pat) beloved wife of John, mum of William, Iain, Mark and Pamela, granny of Iona, Ellie and Amy and sister of Martin. R.I.P.
BARTON – The family of the late Vera Barton would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy. A special thank you is extended to the staff of the Belford Hospital for the wonderful care that was afforded to our mum in her final days. We would also like to thank all the health professionals especially the carers that looked after our mum, their care and support has not gone unnoticed. We would also like to thank the Rev Alexander Guinness of St Andrew’s for a wonderful service, Mike McFall funeral directors for their professionalism and the Moorings for their hospitality. Finally we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the British Heart Foundation a total of £205.81 was raised.
CAMPBELL – Nell and family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy and support, cards, flowers, phone calls and visits received on their recent sad loss. Sincere thanks to all the medical and homecare staff for their unfailing attention to Hugh. Special thanks to Rev Bruce Neill and Pat Boyd for a lovely service. Thanks to Andy Hayes and Andy Wright for all the funeral arrangements and thanks to everyone who travelled from near and far to attend the funeral.
MACDONALD – Kenneth, Lesley, and family would like to thank everyone who sent messages of sympathy, cards, Mass cards and flowers after the loss of Eileen. We would especially like to thank Father Roddy Mcauley, Monsignor MacKinnon, and John Cameron for the beautiful requiem mass. Many thanks to all those that attended the funeral and gave so generously to Parkinson’s UK in Eileen’s memory. MACDONALD – The family of the late Alastair MacDonald would like to thank everyone for the many cards, flowers, baking and visits, following the very sudden sad loss of Alastair. Special thanks to Dr Wallace and the ambulance crews for all the kind attention. To Beatrice for always being there. To Rev Morag Muirhead for the warm and comforting service and May MacIntyre for her musical accompaniment. To Shiona and Colin for the beautiful flowers also Meg and Liz at The Railway Club for a wonderful buffet. Heartfelt thanks to Jamie, Beth and the team at McFall Funeral Directors for the very professional handling of the funeral arrangements. Finally many thanks to all who came to pay their last respects to Alastair and generously donated £550 to be split between Solving Kids Cancer and Alzheimer Scotland.
MACFARLANE – Cecil. The family of the late Cecil would like to thank all relatives and friends for their many expressions of sympathy and support after their sad loss. Special thanks to staff of Ward 1, Belford Hospital for their unending care shown to Cecil. To Rev Amanda Fairclough for a lovely service, to doctors at Ballachulish Medical Centre, to Kim and Gemma for beautiful flowers and to everyone who attended St Mary’s Church and graveside. Grateful thanks to the Isle of Glencoe for their catering service and to John McLellan, Funeral Directors for help and guidance handling arrangements. The sum of £362.64 was raised for Ward 1, Belford Hospital and Alzheimer Scotland.
WOODMAN – Val, Rona, Ian and their families would like to thank the many people who helped after Henry’s tragic accident: Scottish Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance, the Police, Tower Taxis, A&E and HDU 3 Unit 6 at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Our thanks to Catriona Hoey, Alyson Stewart, Amanda and her team at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls, Ross MacPherson, Calum MacPhail and everyone who attended for their part in a wonderful celebration of Henry’s life, and for the generous donations to Henry’s chosen charities. At this time, we would also like to thank the Lorn Medical Centre, the Lorn and Islands Hospital and the NHS in general for their excellent care of Henry over the years. Thanks to Connel Village Store, West Coast Motors (especially lost property!) and numerous others – they know who they are. And finally, can we thank everyone for their thoughtful cards, telephone calls and letters – we are taking great comfort in the support from the Connel, Oban and Lerags communities that Henry loved.
