AULD – It is with great sadness, that Joan and the family announce the passing of Iain, on May 31, 2019, in the comfort of his home. Iain may have suffered a long illness, yet his courage and strength remained with him until the end. Iain was surrounded by his wonderful family and friends, who were always welcomed with a smile and ‘that handshake’. Iain’s funeral will take place at Oban Parish Church, Glencruitten Road, Oban, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 1.00 pm, followed by a celebration of Iain’s life in the Argyllshire Gathering Halls. BARTON – The funeral service of our mum, Vera Barton of Castle Drive, Lochyside, Fort William will take place from St Andrew’s Church, Fort William on Thursday June 13 at 1pm followed by interment at Kilmallie Cemetery. MACCALLUM – Hugh. Peacefully at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on May 27, 2019 and in the comfort of his family, Hugh, aged 76 years, formerly of Campbeltown and renowned solo piper. Beloved husband of Emily and the late Valerie, much loved dad of John and Colin, proud grandpa of Amy and Hugh to Heather and Rachel, much loved uncle and friend to many. Funeral service will be held on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 1.45pm in Falkirk Crematorium, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only.
MACDIARMID – (Invergordon). Suddenly but peacefully at Raigmore Hospital Inverness, on Sunday, June 2, 2019, John MacDiarmid of Birchwood, Invergordon. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy, much loved dad of Jackie and Veronica and a doting grandad of Kayleigh and Chloe. Funeral service will be held in Invergordon Church of Scotland, on Friday June 7, 2019, commencing at 12 noon, thereafter to Rosskeen Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. McINTOSH – (Inverness). Suddenly but peacefully at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on May 25, 2019, John Phimister (Ian) aged 90 years, Cradlehall, Inverness. Loving husband of Peggy, a much loved father of Mairi, Margaret and Grace, dearly loved father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. A service was held yesterday, Wednesday, June 5 in the Barn Church, Culloden, Inverness followed by interment in Kilvean Cemetery. McKILLOP – Peacefully at Newcraigs Hospital, Inverness on May 29, 2019, William Donald Cameron (Bill), beloved husband of Christine, dear father of William, Malcolm and Cameron, father-in-law of Rhona and Karen. Much loved papa to all his grandchildren. Funeral service will take place on Thursday June 6 (today) in Oban Parish Church at 1pm. Family flowers only. PAGET – Mary Paget. Beloved wife of the late Bob Paget, died very peacefully at the age of 90 in the Islay Hospital on June 2, 2019, with her family at her side. We would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful carers, doctors and nurses who looked after Mum so well over the years.
FLETCHER – Keith Brannagan the partner of the late Mavis Fletcher would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for their sympathy and support at this extremely sad time. Special thanks to John, Linnie and Peter from John McLellan Funeral Directors for all the kindness and support shown. Thanks also to McDonald Bros for the beautiful flowers and The Highland Getaway for the catering. Grateful thanks to The Rev Amanda Fairclough for the lovely service and to all who attended both the church and graveside. The sum of £309.00 was collected for Ballachulish Medical Centre and the District Nurses both of whom gave great care and support to Mavis over a long period of time.
HAGGART – The family of the late Frances Haggart would like to thank everyone for the many cards, flowers, baking and visits following the sad loss of Frances. Special thanks to her carers, Craig Nevis Surgery and the nursing staff at The Belford Hospital for their professionalism, care and support. To neighbours and friends for their help and support prior to Frances’s passing. To Rev Richard Baxter for the warm and comforting services and May MacIntyre for her musical accompaniment. Grateful and heartfelt thanks to Jamie and the team at McFall Funeral Directors, for their professional handling of the funeral arrangements. HARPER – The family of the late Susan Harper would like to express their sincere thanks to all neighbours, friends and relatives for all the kindness shown to them following their sad loss of Susan. MACDONALD – The family of the late Caroline MacDonald would like to thank all relatives, friends, workmates and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy, support, flowers, phone calls, visits received and cards on their recent sad loss. Special thanks go to the Oncology staff at the Vale of Leven Hospital and to the Doctors and Nursing staff of Mid Argyll for their kind care and support to Caroline in her last days of life.
