BIRTHS

CACACE – Veronica “nee Cumming” and Dario are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful  daughter Daria Stephanie Ilia at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow on May 22, 2019, a wee sister for Lucca.

DEATHS

BEAMISH – Julie, passed away peacefully at home in Kilchrenan, Argyll, on Thursday June 13, 2019. Immensely loved and missed by her husband Jamie, son Tom, grandchildren Teddy and Felix and brothers Stephen, Barry and Andy. The family would like to express its deepest thanks to the district nursing staff of Connel and Taynuilt, Macmillan cancer support, the Beatson Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary who all cared so well for Julie during her illness. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday June 26 at 1.00 pm, at Kilchrenan Church. Family flowers only please but donations gratefully received for Beatson cancer charity.

GRANT – Anne. Peacefully at Rannoch Lodge Nursing Home, on Thursday  June 13, 2019. Anne, formerly of Kilchrenan, beloved wife of the late Sandy and much loved sister and aunt. Funeral service to take place at Daldowie Crematorium, Broomhouse, on Thursday June 20, at 12 noon. Family flowers only please.

THOMSON – (Inverness). Peacefully at home on Friday June 14,  2019, in the loving care of his family, Kenneth (Ken), aged 65 years, past president of the Camanachd Association and former director of Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C. Beloved husband of Tan, proud and devoted dad to Aoom and Arm, dear brother of David, brother-in-law to Chris Ann and a friend to many, will be sorely missed. Funeral service on Tuesday June 25, at 12 noon in the Funeral Home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness, thereafter to Kilvean Cemetery. All respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired for Macmillan Nurses, Marie Curie and the Camanachd Association can be given at the service or forwarded to the Funeral Directors.

WATSON – Margaret (Formerly of North Connel, Argyll). Peacefully at Orchard House Care Home on 15 June 2019, surrounded by her loving family, aged 84 years. Retired devoted teacher to many and a beloved and cherished aunt to all the family. For Funeral Service details please contact Ian Brown Funeral Directors on 01555-870287.

WHITE –  (Portmahomack) – Peacefully in the County Hospital, Invergordon on June 12, 2019,  aged 86 years, Ronald “Ronnie” White, 7 Knock Shortie Road, Portmahomack formerly of Rownhams (Hampshire, Taynuilt and Dornoch), beloved husband of Jean, much loved dad of Simon, Samantha and Vanessa, dear grandad and great grandad and loved by all the extended family and friends. Funeral service was held in Inverness Crematorium on Wednesday  June 19. All enquiries to Alasdair Rhind, Funeral Directors, Sutherland House, Bank Street, Tain.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

MARRION – Mr Paul Marrion of Benderloch, near Oban, passed away peacefully, on Sunday June 9, 2019. A Memorial Service to be held at St. Modan’s Church, Benderloch, near Oban PA37 1QP, at 1.00 pm on Saturday July 6, 2019, to which all friends are respectfully invited.

AULD – Joan and the family would like to thank all their wonderful friends, for the support they have received over the past few months.  Special thanks to Lorn Medical Centre for the first class care Iain received, also his Carers who treated him with kindness and dignity, to Joan and Al at Crossroads for always making Iain laugh.  Thanks to Ian and all at D & A Munn for the articulate professionalism and guidance they gave us all, to Donald MacKinnon for a comforting and uplifting service, to Amanda at the Argyllshire Gathering for a lovely buffet and to Lynette at Petals for beautiful flowers.  Thank you also to Billy Taylor for musical accompaniment and to Duncan Forgrieve for lovely words and funny stories (all of which were true).  Huge thanks to Kenneth Pearson for his wonderful recital at the graveside and to Michael McKinnon for amazing piping.  Thank you also, to Duncan McMillan (Scally), for being in the right place at the right time.  Finally, a huge thank you to the hundreds of friends who attended the service and graveside and for the generous donations which amounted to £1410.66, for the Dove Centre, Oban, which was testament to the high esteem in which Iain held, he was described to us recently as “the main man of Oban”, an accolade he would be proud to hold.

MACKAY – On behalf of Gary and myself I would like to extend our sincere thanks to both families for their help with everything, even though we are all hurting on the sad loss of my beautiful girl Mary Ann and Gary’s mum who we can never replace.
Also thanks to Linnie and John from McLellan’s Funeral Directors for all the efficient arrangements, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks also to McDonald Brothers Florists, for the beautiful flowers, also the Rev Corbett from Caol Church of Scotland who was a credit to the Church, even not knowing Mary Ann, he gave her an excellent final journey. Thanks also to both our families and special friends you know who you are that keep me going and who continue to help daily.
Thanks also to Meg and Liz from the Railway Club for all they did for both families.
Sorry, if I have forgotten anyone but from the bottom of my heart I thank you all.

MONTGOMERY – Marlene and Donnie would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for their flowers, cards, sympathy and support during Kenny’s illness.   Thanks to staff at Kinlochleven Surgery, NHS24 and Raigmore and Belford Hospitals for their care. Thanks to our local paramedic, John Banks, for his kindness to Kenny – he thought the world of you.  A very special thanks to Rev Gordon Mair and Rev Dr Malcolm Kinnear for a beautiful service and to Rev James Beaton for precenting.  Thanks to John  McLellan & Co undertakers, Highland Getaway for a lovely tea and to Kinlochleven Fire Brigade for their guard of honour and escort. The fantastic sum of £606 was collected for Lochaber Palliative Care.
