About 9.30am on June 11, on Albany Street, Oban a 25-year-old man was stopped and searched by police and was allegedly found to be in possession of cannabis, cocaine and heroin. The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

No Insurance

About 12.30pm on June 12 a car was taken from an address on Dunollie Road, Oban. Enquiries revealed the alleged driver, a man, 37, did not have permission to take the vehicle and no insurance to drive the vehicle. The man was charged and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.


About 1.30am on June 14, following a report of a man causing a disturbance on George Street, Oban, an 18-year-old was arrested and charged with abusive behaviour. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Witness Appeal

Between 6pm on June 1 and 10am on June 11, within the public car park at Gallanach Road, Oban, a parked trailer was vandalised with all four tyres punctured. Police are appealing for witnesses.


About 2.50pm on June 15, on the A810 near to Cladich, a grey-coloured Citroen motor car collided with another car. Police attended and a 42-year-old man was arrested for alleged disqualified driving, dangerous driving, drug driving, no insurance and no MOT. The man was charged with the offences, held for Court and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Resist arrest allegation

About 10.45pm on June 12, at Java Houses, Craignure, Mull, a man, 35, was arrested for allegedly obstructing police officers. The man then allegedly resisted arrest by struggling with police. The man was later charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Fail to stop

About 10.30am on June 14, on the B8035 near Gruline, Mull, a gold-coloured 4×4 Landrover car collided with a white-coloured Volkswagen car. The gold car failed to stop. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

No Insurance

About 8pm on June 12, on the B8035, Gruline, Mull, a van was stopped by police for a routine check. These revealed there was allegedly no insurance in force for the vehicle and the driver, a man, 42, was charged with the offence. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Theft of heating oil

Between 7pm on May 31 and 6pm on June 10, a padlock was damaged and a quantity of heating oil was stolen from a tank in the garden of a cottage at Lagavulin, Islay. Police are investigating the incident.
