Oban Phoenix Cinema’s new concession stand was finished on Friday night.

The modern snack-bar will make purchasing tickets and food a lot smoother, with dedicated areas for each.

There is also a seating area to the left of the stand, where people can sit and wait.

Marco Pacitti, duty manager, said: ‘It feels fantastic. It has completely changed the way that we work. It will make things go so much smoother. It is an amazing space and it is more welcoming – it is so modern. This is probably the way it should have been when it first opened.’

Marco added: ‘Thanks for the community support in the first phase of our development of the cinema. We are working on a second part and we are still fundraising.’

Emma Grant, project manager, said previously: ‘This project has come from aspirations that staff and directors have had for a number of years and it is stuff the community has been asking for for a while.

‘We were funded by this by The Crerar Trust,  the Oban Common Good Fund, and community fundraising.’
