Dunbeg Primary School held their annual sports day last Friday with only a slight shower in the afternoon breaking the otherwise perfect conditions.

And the sun wasn’t the only thing sparkling on the day.

There were broad smiles all round as the children competed in all the traditional sporting events.

Parents, grandparents, other family members and friends were there cheering on the young athletes as they ran, jumped, threw, crawled and otherwise took part.

Head teacher Marny McCulloch was delighted with how the event went. She said: ‘Once again, I was very proud of the children who demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and school values as they participated throughout the afternoon.’

The whole day was a fantastic success and brought the curtain down on a memorable year at the school.
