Lochaber Sea Cadets held their annual awards presentations recently.

There were 16 awards for the junior section, 11 for seniors, including seamanship, mechanical engineering and rowing (ranging from basic to cadet instructor) and there were promotions. There were also one, two and three good conduct stripes handed out.

All in, there have been 43 different qualifications earned by the cadets over this year with more to follow.

Our photograph shows PO Tricia Mathieson – Divisional Officer of the Year; Leading junior John MacLean – Best junior and Commodore’s Broad pennant (1st awarded in unit for six years); AC Ryan Watchman – most improved cadet; AC Jay Calder – community shield (second year in a row); AC Shannon MacCallum – Best overall cadet.

Also pictured are Hugh MacInnes (RBLS Fort William chairman) and PO Dell Campbell (commanding officer).
