A youth volunteering programme in Oban is on the lookout for groups and organisations that could use a helping hand.

The GIVE Programme (Get Inspired through Volunteering and Engagement) is run in each area of Argyll and Bute that has Youth Services staff.

The summer programme, which is run in partnership with Oban Youth Café, sees young people volunteer for a day and in return are rewarded with a trip or activity, such as go-karting or trampolining.

GIVE is looking to see if any local groups or organisations would like some young people to help them out for a day or half day.

There will be around a dozen young people available. They will all be under 18 but most will be ages between 12-14. The volunteering days are each Tuesday and Wednesday in July.

There will be a sign-up night in Oban Youth Café on Thursday June 13 from 4-7pm.

This year GIVE will also provide the volunteers with training, such as  Dementia Friends, first aid, camping skills, as well as team building activities.

If any organisations would like a helping hand, contact or 01631 567975.
