CLEGG – (Oban/Edderton/Rothesay). Peacefully in his home in Oban on Monday  May 20,  2019, Tom Clegg (formerly of Rothesay then Edderton), beloved husband of the late Kathleen, much loved father of Kathryn and David, a loving grandad and father-in-law. A graveside service will be held in Edderton Cemetery near Tain on Tuesday May 28  at 1 pm, followed by a service of thanksgiving in Oban Free Church on Wednesday  May 29 at 1 pm. DONNELLY – Iain. Suddenly in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on Saturday May 11, 2019, beloved husband, dad, grandad, brother and friend to many. Funeral service will take place on Monday May 27 at 1pm in Duncansburgh MacIntosh Church followed by interment at Kilmallie Cemetery. GALBRAITH – Suddenly but peacefully in Orkney Hospital on May 1, 2019, John, age 63, youngest son of the late John and Barbara Galbraith, formerly of Cliad Farm, Isle of Coll, loving father of Iona, Sandy, Ruairidh and John Angus. Loved and missed by all.

KEITH – Peacefully, at her home, 2 Lower Achagoyle, Minard, on May 18, 2019, Mary Crawford Keith, (née McKellar), in her 96th year, (former primary school teacher in Furnace, Lochgilphead and Inveraray), beloved wife of the late Neil Keith, much loved mother of Eilidh and Lorna and dear granny of Morven, Gillian and Iona.  A graveside service will take place at Kilevin Cemetery, Crarae, Minard, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 12.00 noon.  No flowers please.  All friends are respectfully invited to attend.

MACMILLAN – Peacefully at Uist and Barra Hospital on April 26, 2019, Peggie, aged 91 years, beloved wife of Shonnie, much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Fortified by the rites of  the holy church. RIP.

MACINTOSH – Peacefully on May 4, 2019, in The Uist and Barra Hospital, Margaret MacIntosh (née MacLennan) of 30 Baile Na Cille, Balivanich, Benbecula, in her 64th year. Beloved wife of Alec, devoted mother to Christine, Donna and Allison and loving Nana to Chloe, Ryan and Lydia. Daughter to the late Donald and Chrissie MacLennan, of Beechwood, Barcaldine, by Oban, and sister to Donald, Angus, Iain, Kenny, Catriona and the late David and Ronald. Sorely missed, loved and remembered each day.

MACTAVISH – (Inverness). Peacefully after a short illness at the Highland Hospice, Inverness on May 15, 2019, Alastair Mitchell, aged 72 years, Stornoway Drive, Inverness, late of The Kings Arms Hotel, Oban.  Loving husband of Anne, much loved dad of Carol and Iain, also a dear granda and father-in-law. Funeral ceremony on Monday, May 27 at 11am in the funeral home of John Fraser & Son, 17-29 Chapel Street, Inverness followed by committal at Inverness Crematorium.  All welcome to attend. Donations are invited for the Highland Hospice at the ceremony. Car parking available at the funeral home.

McKECHNIE – Peacefully, at the Mid Argyll Hospital, on May 17, 2019, Neil McKechnie, aged 90 years, of 11 Queen Elizabeth Cottages, Furnace, beloved husband of the late Ann, adored father of Christine, Alan, Jane, George and Aileen, dearly loved papa and great papa, much respected father-in-law and a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin to all the family.  A good neighbour, dear friend and work colleague to many.  Funeral service will be held in Cumlodden Parish Church, Furnace, on Friday, May 24, 2019, at 12.00 noon, thereafter to Kilevin Cemetery, Minard. Family flowers only please.  Donations to British Red Cross and Glencoe Mountain Rescue.

MORRIS – Peacefully, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, on May 15, 2019, Christine (Kirsty) Morris, (née Gargan), in her 82nd year, of 1 Rowan Park, Lochgilphead, a loving and much loved wife, mum and granny; she will be sadly missed by the whole family. A dear friend to many. Funeral service will be held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11.00am, thereafter a service of committal will take place at Cardross Crematorium at 3.15pm.  All friends are respectfully invited to attend. STIRLING – William (Willie) formerly of Bank of Scotland, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, aged 87, in Randolph Hill Nursing Home, Dunblane. Dearly beloved husband of Nancy Farquhar and a loving and loved father, father-in-law and grandad to the family. Brother to Donald Stirling and the late Nancy McKechnie. Service at Polmont Old Parish Church on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11.30 am. Interment will be at Elgin Cemetery 1990 extension on Tuesday,  May 28, 2019 at 2pm.


DRUMMOND – The family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for all their kind messages and flowers after the sad loss of Frankie. Thanks also to all who took time to travel to attend Frankie’s Celebration of Life. Special thanks to Ian at D&A Munn for guidance and professional care, Belinda Braithwaite for a very special service, Amanda and staff at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls and everyone who contributed to the collection for Marie Curie. The total raised was £750.00.

FERGUSON – Kay, Alison and Ewen would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their support and many kind expressions of sympathy, for cards, flowers, telephone calls, home baking and visits following the sad loss of James. To Dr Helliwell and staff of the Mid Argyll Hospital. To the Rev. Robert MacLeod for a lovely service and to Roddy and Fiona for all their help and guidance and to Morna for the beautiful flowers. MACCUISH – The family of the late Alasdair MacCuish wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We would like to thank everyone who attended the service, burial and provided emotional and practical support at this difficult time. For those who phoned, travelled long distance, sent flowers, cards and messages of condolences and donations to the retiral collection, we are extremely grateful. A special word of thanks to the care team who looked after Alasdair. To Monsignor MacNeil for a beautiful service. To Hamish Hoey and Son for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements. To Soroba House for putting on an excellent purvey. To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. MACLEAN – Douglas, Irene, Doreen and Jacqueline would like to express their sincere gratitude shown by everyone following the very sad loss of their brother, Eric.

Grateful thanks to doctors and nurses at the Beatson Hospital in Glasgow and the Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban for their care and attention during Eric’s illness.

Also thank you to Alyson Stewart (Celebrant) for the beautiful personal and dignified tribute to Eric, enjoyed by everyone who attended. Special thanks to Hamish Hoey and Son for their caring and professional service provided to the family at this difficult time. Many thanks to all staff at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls for the lovely refreshments and help from the staff. Thank you to all who paid their last respects and for the donations made to the Hope Kitchen, Oban. And finally, Eric’s family are overwhelmed by the help and support shown to them by all of Eric’s special friends.  Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making it such a special tribute to Eric.

PATON – The family of the late Rev John Paton would like to thank the community of Mull and Iona, Linlithgow, Kintyre and including those from various parts of the world. Your love of Johnny has shone like a beacon over the last few weeks. Our special thanks to Ullapool Police, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue and the community of Ullapool, Rev Liz Gibson, Rev Stewart Gillan, Rev Donald Scott, Marilyn Sheddon, Church of Scotland Presbytery of Argyll, Janet Campbell and Mull Gaelic Choir and Ruth and Elizabeth for music, and to all who attended, thanks for a perfect service, to Mull Funeral Services, thank you for outstanding, dignified and such professional care. Finally, thanks to MacBrayne’s ferry crew, again for the respect shown as Johnny undertook his final journey.

REID – Tracey would like to thank all family, friends and work colleagues past and present for your messages, cards, flowers and a shoulder to cry on in the sudden, sad loss of Willie. Special thanks to Izabela Bodzioch and staff at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, also a huge thank you to Dr Fiona MacLennan at the Lorn Medical Centre.
