Traffic wardens will soon be patrolling the streets of Mallaig after Highland Council announced it will roll-out parking enforcement across the Highlands.

In 2016, parking enforcement was implemented in Fort William and all off-street car parks.

Phase two of the rollout sees enforcement implemented on roads containing on-street parking, waiting and loading prohibitions and restrictions within Mallaig, Kyle and Portree, among others.

Mobile officers have begun patrolling the new areas on a random basis and will initially be issuing warning notices to all vehicles in contravention for a two week period.
