As a reward for raising nearly £6,000 for the Maggie’s Centre in Inverness over the course of the last two football seasons, Charlie MacRae, from Plockton, along with his family, recently enjoyed a tour of Ross County’s stadium in Dingwall, as well as sitting down to lunch with the players and coaches.

A former player with the club in the 1964-65 season, Charlie has been a supporter of the Victoria Park side for 50 years and has hardly missed a match.

‘It was a fantastic day and being able to take my family, as well as having lunch with the players and coaches, just made it out of this world,’ he told the Lochaber Times this week.

‘I am so grateful to all those who helped make it such an enjoyable day.’
