Theft from boat

Between March 31 and April 20, an outboard motor was stolen from a sailing boat which is currently grounded on the shore near to Poppies Garden Centre, near Dunbeg. Police are investigating.

Theft by shoplifting

About 11.30am on Wednesday April 24, a quantity of cosmetics and toiletries were stolen from Superdrug and Boots in George Street, Oban. Police are investigating.

Damage to vehicle

Between noon and 1pm on Thursday April 25, within the car park of Oban High School, a parked red Fiat Panda suffered minor damage to the rear bumper and fog light. The damage is thought to have been caused by another vehicle which failed to stop and report the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Abusive behaviour

About 9pm on Thursday April 25, a 36-year-old  woman was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner in Glenshellach Road, Oban, earlier that night. The woman was subsequently charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Window smashed

About 12.05am on Saturday April 27, the common close door at 14 Soroba Road was damaged and the glass pane smashed. Police are investigating the incident.

Recorded warning

About 8.30pm on Saturday April 27, in the public car park near to licensed premises in Tobermory, a 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner. The man was subsequently charged and issued with a recorded police warning.


About 9.40pm on Saturday April 27, a 22-year-old man was arrested outside licensed premises in Tobermory after allegedly assaulting a member of door staff. The man was later charged and issued with a recorded police warning.

Drunk driver

About 1am on Sunday April 28, in George Street, Oban, a car was stopped and the man, 31, who was driving, was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol. The man was charged, held for court and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.


About 7.40pm on Saturday April 28, a man, 27, was allegedly driving at excessive speed on the A82 near to Bridge of Orchy. The vehicle was stopped, the driver was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Abusive behaviour

About 7.40pm on Sunday April 28, police received a report of a man acting in an abusive and threatening manner within a convenience store in Argyll Square, Oban. Police are investigating.
