Organisers of June’s Charities Day in Oban have come up with a carnival theme to get the party started.

People are being encouraged to get dressed up to get on down and join in the parade on Saturday June 1, leaving the Corran Halls at 1pm.

Oban and Lorn Lions Club wants it to be the biggest and best day yet in the event’s history and is reminding would-be stallholders to get in touch quickly.

‘With just seven weeks to go, space for stalls in Station Square is filling up fast so anyone who is thinking of joining us needs to get in touch quickly,’ said Jim Edge from the Lions. It costs £25 to have a stall on the day.

There will be three prizes for the best in parade and there will also be a best-dressed stall winner.

Application forms are available either from Hannah’s Newsagents in Stevenson Street, be emailing or via the club’s Facebook page.
