Kilchrenan residents delivered a huge surprise to popular postie Iain Alexander on his retirement last week.
Mr Alexander turned up to the monthly coffee morning in the village hall only to find a cheque waiting for him and a big turnout from the community.
The surprise cheque was in appreciation of the work
he had done for Kilchrenan in all weathers.
Mr Alexander, who had been a postman since 1999, was presented with the cheque by Margaret Ann Nicolson who said she had known him for more than 40 years.
Pupils from Kilchrenan Primary School also
presented him with a large retirement card
they made themselves.
