MACPHEE – ROBERTSON – Both families are delighted to announce the engagement of Carron to Mark on March 6, 2019.
DEATHS
BOWERS – Anne Bowers of Achabuie, Taynuilt, died peacefully in her sleep in the Lorn and Islands Hospital on March 5, 2019. Funeral to take place at Clydebank Crematorium on March 21, 2019 at 2.30pm. No flowers please.
CRAIG – Suddenly but peacefully on March 9, 2019, Douglas, loving son of the late John and Katie, dear brother of the late Johnnie and Malcolm, brother-in-law of Isobel and Lorraine, uncle of Shirley and Douglas and great-uncle of Nicole and Kian. A dear friend to many. Will be sadly missed. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed.
DUNLOP – Dorothy Shirley. Peacefully at Mosswood Care Home, Linwood on Thursday, February 28, 2019, aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late Robbie and loving mother of Alastair, Timothy, Gillian and Andrew. Funeral service will be held in Appin Parish Church on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12 noon to which all are welcome. Family flowers only.
LIVETT – Peacefully at Belford Hospital on Thursday, March 7, 2019, Richard Chaplin Livett (Snr). Funeral service will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Inverness Crematorium. MACINTYRE – Archie, son of the late James and Catherine MacIntyre, brother of Ann and the late Rachel, died peacefully at Tigha Rudha, Tiree, on March 7, 2019, aged 80. Interred at Kirkapol Cemetery, Tiree.
McGREGOR – Peacefully at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on March 2, 2019, Robert McGregor (Bob), aged 91 years, 4 The Riggs, Fort Augustus, beloved husband of the late Cis, much loved dad of Robin, loving granpa of Robert, Michael and Christina, great-granpa of Kerri, Jake and Finlay, also a dear father-in-law of Isabell. Funeral ceremony on Tuesday, March 19, at 12.15pm in Glengarry Community Hall, Invergarry; thereafter to Jenkins Park Cemetery, Fort Augustus. All welcome to attend. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Maggie’s Highlands may be given at the door. Arrangements by D. Chisholm & Sons.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
MACDONALD – The family of the late Angus Macdonald (Moy) would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the support shown and their kind words and cards. The family would also like to thank Mr Corbett for the service, Mr Donald McQuarrie for his tribute in English and his heartfelt Gaelic prayer. Also a thank you to Macdonald Bros, Caol Community Centre, John McLellan funeral directors for making such a sad time a little easier with their professionalism shown. Final thanks to all who donated so generously, the amount of £530.36 which was collected and donated to Uist and Barra Hospital patient care.
McCONNACHIE – Ali, Andrea and family would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of support shown following their heart-breaking loss of Ally (Jnr). Thank you to all the staff at the Belford Hospital for the care and attention they gave to Ally. Grateful thanks to Alan Smurthwaite for his personal attention to detail in the ceremony for Ally. Thanks to Caol Community Centre for the excellent catering provided, special thanks to John and Linnie for the care and attention to detail of the funeral arrangements to meet all our requests and make a harrowing time a lot more bearable. Finally thanks to everyone who came along on the day to pay their respects the sum of £392.92 was collected in aid of CAU Ward Belford Hospital.
MILLER – David, Alastair and Elsie would like to express their sincere appreciation to family and friends for their support and kindness shown to them on the sad loss of George. Special thanks to the President and members of the Rotary Club of Oban for their frequent visits to George, both in hospital and in his home during his long illness. Grateful thanks to our community nurses and Carr Gomm carers who brought cheerfulness along with their professionalism to George’s home. To the Macmillan nurses, the staff of Lorn and Islands Hospital, we extend our sincere thanks. Thanks to Rev. Dugald Cameron for his guidance, church services and at the graveside. To D&A Munn, Funeral Directors for their professional and dignified services. Donations to the Macmillan Day Bed Unit at Oban Hospital amounted to £415.
NICOLSON – Joan. Derick, Lynda and Sarah would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to family, friends and neighbours for their kind words and support. We would especially like to thank Macmillan Day Bed Unit and Gill Fairclough for the care and compassion shown to our mother. Reverend James Beaton and D&A Munn for their kind support and guidance.
