In further bad news for motorists on the A828, the surfacing improvements timetable has been altered and pushed back for a second time.

The works, which are costing £370,000, will now take longer than anticipated, with the last of the improvements now not scheduled to finish until the end of March.

The improvements at Barcaldine will now begin on Sunday March 3, lasting two nights from 7pm to 6am both nights.

And when those are finished, there will be further disruption up the road at Keil. The works have been pushed back a night, and will now start on Tuesday March 5 for two nights, again from 7pm to 6am.

The plans for completing the roadworks at Appin House were rescheduled earlier this week and will now take place at the end of the month.

Amnesty periods will remain in an attempt to minimise any further disruption for motorists.

For up to date travel information, those using the A828 over the next few weeks are advised to visit the Traffic Scotland website for real-time updates.
