Oban Lorne Rugby Football Club are back in action this Saturday with a West Division 2 fixture at home to Wigtownshire RFC.

Unusually for this stage of the season, Oban have played the most amount of fixtures out of anyone in the league with 17 games played. This means the team only have three fixtures remaining as they look to secure second place in the division.

Fortunately for Oban, all of their three remaining games are at home, starting with this Saturday’s fixture against a side that beat the Green Machine in Stranraer in the first half of the league campaign.

Oban need 10 points out of their three games to secure second place. This fight was aided on Saturday with Uddingston’s 27-12 loss to bottom of the table Cumbernauld.

Second place could secure a second available promotion spot depending on the outcome of league reconstruction that is up for discussion at next week’s West Regional League meeting.

Kick-off in Oban on Saturday is at 3pm. Everyone welcome.

Oban Lorne congratulate everyone at Lenzie RFC after they secured the West Division 2 title with a 40-7 win at Strathaven on Saturday. Lenzie have been impressive this season, winning all of their games so far.
