Dozens of young shinty players took part in the GS Campbell National Primary School Indoor Championship at Fort William on Saturday, with Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig claiming victory in the P7 and under competition.

The Skye team beat Glenurquhart side Balnain in the final after a hard fought encounter. Inverlochy were unfortunate to miss out on the final, losing to Balnain in the semi finals.

In the P5 and under tournament at Lochaber High School, Newtonmore romped to victory.

P5 and under runners up Glasgow Gaels and winners Newtonmore. NO F08 LHS Shinty comp 01.

The Badenoch side brushed aside the Glasgow Gaels 9-1 in the final after a narrow victory in their semi final against Portree, winning 3-2 with a golden goal in extra time.

Inveraray won the fair play award for showing class and determination even when outmatched.
