HODGE – Charles and Julie Hodge (née Gray) are proud to announce the birth of Angus Charles Elliot, born February 5, 2019 weighing 8lb 1oz. A new grandson for Christine and Colin Hodge, and Lynda Gray and David Gray.
MACNEIL – Malcolm and Maura MacNeil (née) MacFadyen), daughter of Anne and Duncan of Fiscavaig, Skye, son of Corrina and Angus of Barcaldine, Oban, are delighted to announce the birth of their son, Seumas Duncan MacNeil, born on January 14, 2019 weighing 10lbs 1.5oz

GRAY – It is with great sadness that Deirdre and Shona announce the peaceful death of their mother Maud Gray (formerly Baney) on February 9, 2019 at Oban Hospital, after a short illness. Her love of life and laughter will never be forgotten. The funeral will be held at 12 midday Dalmally Church on February 25. Family flowers only please.
LINTOTT – Sadly, but peacefully after a short illness at Glasgow Royal Infirmary on February 15, 2019, aged 65yrs, Brian, dearly beloved son of the late Alan and Nan and much loved brother and best friend of Colin. A respected friend and colleague to many. A very much loved cousin. A true gentlemen. Gone too soon.
MACDONALD – David Dingwall, tragically while on holiday as a result of an accident in Thailand on January 3, 2019. Beloved son of Donald and Catherine, brother to Calum and Rachel, grandson of D.J. and Malina, 2 Hoebeg and the late John Alex and D.J. Macdonald, Osmanville, uncle, nephew, cousin and true friend. Interred in Kilmuir, North Uist.

MACKENZIE – Peacefully at his home in Cullipool, Isle of Luing, on February 12, 2019, aged 75 years, George MacKenzie, a dearly loved uncle and brother-in-law. Funeral will take place at Kilchattan Cemetery, Isle of Luing on Friday, March 1 at 1.00 p.m.
MCLENNAN – Peacefully at the Lorn and Islands Hospital on February 14, 2019, with his family around him. Kenneth (Kenny), aged 79 of 1 Scott Cottages, Bridge of Orchy. Beloved husband of Kathleen, father to Caroline, James and Alison and much loved father-in-law, grandpa and great grandpa. Funeral service will be held at Dalmally Parish Church on Tuesday, February 26 at 1pm. Family flowers only. Donations to the Macmillan Day Care Unit in Oban would be appreciated.
NICOLSON – Johanna (Joan) of 15 Creag Bhan Village, Oban, passed away at home on February 17, 2019. Beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of Derick, Lynda, the late Margaret and grandmother of Sarah. Funeral service at the Free High Church, Rockfield Road, Oban at 1pm on Friday, February 22. MACNEILL – Fay, Russell and family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to family, friends and the community for their support and all acts of kindness shown to them on the sad loss of Neville, beloved husband, dad and papa. Grateful thanks to Dr A MacTaggart, GP’s, all staff at Islay Hospital and ambulance crews for their dedicated care and compassion over the years. To our wonderful community nurses who brought such warmth and cheerfulness along with their professionalism to our home. Special thanks to Rev Andrew Burnham for his sympathetic support, beautiful uplifting service and for arranging for Neville to rest in Bowmore Baptist Church overnight and for the family to spend time there together. Our gratitude to Jean and Craig McAffer for making a sad time that bit easier, James Carmichael for choosing such lovely pipe tunes and the Lochside Hotel for purvey. Finally thanks to all who attended the funeral from near and far and gave so generously. The sum of £1020 raised will be divided between the Scottish Air Ambulance Service and Islay Community Nurses.
RYAN – Annie. The family would like to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy. Special thanks to Strontian Hotel and Bothy Bar for catering, Rev Donald McCorquodale, the organist and all who paid their last respects at the church and graveside and to those who donated to Erskine Glasgow Care Home.
