The Drew Ferguson Memorial Cup took place on Saturday as Fort William and Kyles Athletic did battle at a rainy An Aird Park in this annual commemorative pre-season friendly.
The rain just held out long enough for improvised referee Addie Robertson to get the match under way.
The match proved to be an exciting affair, with the play flowing from end to end. Kyles took the lead before Fort William equalised just before half time.
The home side came out all guns blazing in the second half making it 2-1 and were looking worthy of their lead.
Kyles upped the ante and laid siege on the Fort goal until it soon became two each.
Kyles, showing their premier league credentials, then piled the pressure on the Fort defence and regained the lead so with a cracking goal to make it 3-2 close to the final whistle, ending Fort’s hopes of an opening pre-season win.
Fort William Shinty Club thanked Kyles Athletic for continuing to support the memory of Drew Ferguson in this annual memorial match.
The match is held each year for the two teams and supporters to remember former Fort William player Drew Ferguson who died tragically on May 15 2013, aged 24.
