Now that winter is starting to bite it Is probably too late to get a fancy new heating system installed. But that does not mean you cannot do anything to keep your home warm and bills low now.

Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) is again offering FREE home energy surveys throughout Lochaber.

The group can use its thermal imaging cameras to find missing insulation, draughts, cold patches, and anything else that can easily be adjusted, helping you to feel warmer and save money on your heating.

LEG’s electricity monitors are also a great way to see where your electricity bill is going – many households can save 20 per cent by making a few simple adjustments.

It is not about sitting in the dark; this is about the changes that save you money without being difficult. To help with this, LEG will also bring out a free LED lightbulb to help get you started saving money.

The group has been running surveys in Lochaber for many years now and its members are always happy to help with any home energy questions you may have.

Its project is funded by the Scottish Government via the Climate Challenge Fund, which allows the survey to be completely free to you.
