ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
MACPHERSON – Margaret and family would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many cards, phone calls and floral tributes following the death of Hugh. Thank you to those who travelled near and far to pay their last respects at Dunoon and also to those who came to Cladhamhuilin cemetery.
MUNRO – Danny, Margaret, Gerald and Evelyn would like to sincerely thank all family and friends for joining them in the Memorial Service for their loving son and brother who sadly died suddenly in Denmark. Grateful thanks for the very many kind expressions of sympathy received personally and by card. Heartfelt thanks to Fr Danny Convery for a very comforting service, organist Margaret, Frank for his assistance, John who delivered a tribute in Allan’s memory and James who recorded the service for Allan’s family in Denmark. Thanks to McLellan’s Funeral Directors for their guidance and to the Bridge Cafe for the excellent catering following the service. Finally, thanks to all who generously donated £474 to Mary’s Meals.
Corson – Thank you to the Mallaig community for supporting both Bobby and Jessie Corson over the last few years, enabling them to stay in the home they loved. Dad had been having care at home by a group of patient ladies. Having spent a week of good quality time with him I really appreciate that Nancy and her colleagues cared for Dad and me over his last week, nothing was too much bother. Thanks to Dr Iain and Mary Boyles from the Medical Centre who were constantly at our side to ensure the Dad was settled and not in pain. All visits were interspersed with interesting stories and memories from the last 27 years, something only possible from living together in a small village. I will always be indebted to the quality of care both my parents have received.
Finally, how does one bury the undertaker? Because of his profession Dad had thought about this and had discussed it with Father Stan, myself, Scott, Linnie and John from McLellan’s. I would like to think we followed his wishes to the best of our abilities. Thanks to Scott, Linnie and John for being by my side before and after Dad passed away. Thanks to Father Stan, Rev Alan Lamb for their kind and sincere words and to my cousin Barry Hutchinson who once again lightened the sad day with an amusing eulogy. Thank you to all that travelled at such short notice at Christmas time to say goodbye to Bobby at the graveside and for one final time at the Chlachain. Donations received are shared between the Mackintosh and the Lochaber Mountain Rescue with whom he had been a team member in his younger years.
Mackintosh – Vince, Islay and Campbell would like to express their appreciation and thanks to all family, friends and neighbours for the kindness, sympathy and support shown to them following their sad loss of Clare. Grateful thanks to Lochaber District Nurses, Lochaber Macmillan Nurses and Marie Curie Nurses who cared for Clare during her illness. Special thanks to Rev Stewart A Mackay and Rev Malcolm Kinnear for conducting Clare’s comforting service at Nether Lochaber Parish Church and at the graveside. To McDonald Brothers, Inverlochy for the excellent flower arrangements and to David, Susan and Val Heron at The Four Seasons Restaurant for their outstanding hospitality both before and after the funeral. To the Royal Regiment of Scotland for providing an immaculately turned out bearer party and Piper Captain Martin Macdonald for his fitting pipe tunes throughout the funeral. To The Royal British Legion Fort William Branch for providing support to the family during this difficult time. Thanks to all those who travelled from near and far to say goodbye to Clare and to all who generously donated £593.64 to Lochaber District Nurses.
