New Year swimmers brave icy waters of Loch Shiel

GLENFINNAN NEW YEAR’S DAY DIP 1/1/19 Thirty two brave swimmers from from across the UK, including 3 Cross Channel swimmers took to the still, but cold waters of Loch Shiel in the shadow of the Glenfinnan mounment to Bonnie Prince Charlie. Ther annual New Year’s Day Dip has been organised for thelast 14 , years by local open water swimmer Morag Hughes, who herself also successfully swam the channel. The hardy group were also joined by Lianne Hickling and Jean Wilkin-Oxley who, other than conquering the Channel have chalked up many other swimming challenges.
